In today’s class, we participated in a debate about the advantages and disadvantages of Wireless Network with the respect of social, environmental, health issues and the wireless network itself.
Advantages
Mobility– Wireless network increase mobility of using internet. We can use wireless network while moving, especially when we are using 4G network, the speed of using 4G network while moving will be the same as when we are staying.
Convenience– It is easier to access wireless network. You can simple access to a wireless network by logging in with you user name and passport.
Deployment– You do not need to pay for additional cost for maintenance test cables since there is no cable in wireless network.
Environment– Meanwhile, there is no physical material and no pollution to use wireless network.
Health– It is safer to use in daily life. You will not accidentally get electric shock by the incorrect connection of cables.
Disadvantages
Speed– Wireless network transmission speed is slower than cable transmission.
Security– Users may be involved in privacy by using the same wireless network with hackers.(Social issue)
Health– The radiative signals released by wireless network is harmful to human health.
Cost– Wireless network is usually more costly.
Environment- Weather interference can have a huge impact on wireless signal integrity. Lightning, for example, can cause electrical interference, and fog can weaken signals as they pass through.
Personal Reflection: Nowadays, the popularity of wireless network keep increasing. There are indeed many advantages of wireless network but there are also disadvantages like human health issues and huge environmental interference. Programmers and experts should focus on fixing those problems. Therefore, wireless network will be more widely used in more areas.
