Usability = Ergonomics + Accessibility

Usability is measured by how easy and self-explanatory a system is and refers to the effectiveness, efficiency, and satisfaction of users’ experience. We should always consider about user’s need, want, and abilities in the perspective how the system will actually be used by users.

Accessibility

Accessibility should be high to serve and meet the needs of as many individuals as possible. For example, Apple provides special service for blind people to use iMoive.

Ergonomics

Ergonomics refers to a system’s ability to optimize human overall system performance and increase human’s working condition. For example, Microsoft Surface Ergonomic Keyboard provides users a more comfortable experience of typing and to some extent prevent users from getting RSI.

Internal Assessment is an opportunity for IB CS students to apply their CS knowledge to develop a real system with the help of advisors and clients. My advisor is Ms. Nie and my clients are my mom and myself.
